Lubin, Bernard; And Others – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1985
Bilingual subjects (N=61) completed the three forms of the Depression Adjective Check Lists (DACL), each of which was printed half in Spanish and half in English. No significant effects were found either for language or sex of subject. Findings supported use of DACL Spanish version with Spanish-speaking subjects. (NRB)

Lubin, Bernard; And Others – Journal of College Student Development, 1993
Conducted four studies in attempt to determine reliability and validity of state and trait versions of Depression Adjective Check Lists (DACL) with college students. Findings revealed that the DACL reliability and validity were sufficiently high to justify use of Depression Adjective Check Lists in research with college students. (Author/NB)

Lubin, Bernard; And Others – Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences, 1980
The study aimed to develop an instrument that could be used for mental health research with Spanish-speaking populations. The Depression Adjective Check Lists (DACL) used to measure depressive mood was translated into Spanish and administered to 70 Hispanic subjects. Reliability determinations were high and close to those for the English version.…

Lubin, Bernard; Collins, James F. – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1985
Presents data on the translation, reliability, concurrent validity, and norms of the Spanish, Hebrew, and Chinese versions of three equivalent forms of the Depression Adjective Check Lists, compared with the English version. Reliability estimates for the four versions were quite similar in magnitude. (NRB)
Descriptors: Chinese, Depression (Psychology), English, Hebrew

Lubin, Bernard – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1981
Determined additional data on the reliability and validity of brief versions of the Depression Adjective Checklist by reanalyzing the data for Forms E, F, and G. Suggests the brevity and relatively high intercorrelation among the lists are assets when repeated measures are needed or many variables are measured. (Author/JAC)

Lubin, Bernard; And Others – Adolescence, 1994
Determined reliability and validity of trait form of Depression Adjective Checklist (DACL) for Sets 1 and 2 with adolescents in grades 7 through 9 (Set 1, n=199) and grades 8 through 12 (Set 2, n=380). Internal consistency, split-half, test-retest, and alternate form reliability were high, as was convergent and discriminant validity. (Author/NB)

Lubin, Bernard; And Others – Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences, 1986
Tested utility of Spanish (American) version of Depression Adjective Check Lists with 70 Mexican American and 66 Mexican college student samples. Found no significant differences on lists E, F, and G. Found significant concurrent validity in Mexican sample by means of correlations with the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale. (NEC)

Lubin, Bernard; Denman, Nancy; Van Whitlock, Rodney – Adolescence, 1998
The reliability and validity of state and trait forms of the Multiple Affective Adjective Checklist-R6 are investigated in a sample of seventh-grade public school students. High internal consistency and adequate validity are found for both forms. Test-retest reliability is higher for trait than for state. Appropriateness for use in research is…

Lubin, Bernard; And Others – Adolescence, 1994
Demonstrated adequate reliability (internal consistency, alternate form) and validity (concurrent, convergent, and discriminant) of state version of Set 1 and Set 2 of Depression Adjective Checklists with two adolescent samples (total n=602). Lists were shown to be sufficiently sensitive for use in measuring short-term mood. Grade and sex effects…

Lubin, Bernard; Van Whitlock, Rod – Assessment, 1996
The reliability and validity of the positive and negative mood scales of the trait version of the State Trait--Depression Adjective Check Lists (D. Watson and others, 1988) were supported with 269 college students, 197 adolescents, and 165 older adults. Results provide evidence of the equivalence of the positive and negative scales. (SLD)

Yasuda, Tomoyuki; Lawrenz, Cathy; Whitlock, Rod Van; Lubin, Bernard; Lei, Pui-Wa – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 2004
Intraindividual variability in positive and negative affect was assessed by the positive affect (Contentment, Joy, Vigor, Love, and Excitement) and negative affect (Depression, Hostility, Anxiety, Agitation, and Social Anxiety) subscales of the state version of the Comprehensive Personality and Affect Scales (COPAS) during a 3-week period. Using…
