Presents a simple cost model to analyze trade-offs involved in considering storage and weeding as alternatives to new construction for academic libraries. References are provided, and the Palmour cost model is presented as an appendix. (RAA)

A survey of Library of Congress staff following implementation of four optical disk reader stations measured their satisfaction with training, documentation, equipment and printing, and system reliability and usefulness. Staff found no major flaws with the system, and they saw its usefulness primarily as an access tool. (CDD)

This study examining storage space, seating space, and building modification of 36 college library buildings constructed in 1967 and 1968 reveals that space for materials is a major concern. Repossession of space used for nonlibrary functions and conversion of seating areas are suggested as solutions. Three references are cited. (EJS)
