An Examination of the Role That Intercollegiate Athletic Participation Plays in Academic Achievement.
Maloney, Michael T.; McCormick, Robert E.
Journal of Human Resources, v28 n3 p555-70 Sum 1993

Particular underperformance of athletes in revenue sports is a seasonal phenomenon, suggesting they are being exploited. (SK)
