Online Submission, Paper presented at the International Conference on Sustainable Globalization (ICSG 2025) (7th, Colombo, Sri Lanka, Jan 10, 2025)
In the contemporary educational landscape, Education Technology (EdTech) has emerged as a transformative force, significantly contributing to sustainable development. This analytical overview explores the multifaceted role of EdTech in promoting accessibility, inclusivity, efficient resource utilization, lifelong learning, and collaborative education. EdTech democratizes education by breaking down geographical and socio-economic barriers, making quality education accessible to all. It fosters inclusivity by accommodating diverse learning needs through adaptive technologies and personalized learning experiences. By reducing reliance on physical resources, EdTech supports environmental sustainability and cost effectiveness. Moreover, EdTech facilitates lifelong learning and professional development through flexible online courses and digital libraries. Collaborative learning is enhanced through virtual platforms and digital tools, preparing students for an interconnected world. Despite its numerous benefits, challenges such as the digital divide, data privacy concerns, and the need for effective educator training must be addressed. This review underscores the critical importance of integrating EdTech into educational systems to achieve sustainable educational goals and create an equitable and inclusive educational landscape for future generations.
