The Official Ideology of American Law Schools
Dent, George W., Jr.
Academic Questions, v24 n2 p185-193 Jun 2011
In this article, the author describes the seemingly all-powerful Association of American Law Schools (AALS) and the negative effects of its single-minded obsession with "diversity." He suggests ways in which true diversity of viewpoint might be injected into law school education. The key is to raise awareness and apply the same standards to all political persuasions. However, achieving fairness will require that the liberals who control law schools change their ways, which compels them essentially to recognize that in the past they have been unfair. They don't have to agree with conservatives, but they do have to acknowledge them as worthy opponents. (Contains 11 footnotes.)
