Not all organizational interlocks, when broken, will necessarily be reconstituted. Focusing on interlocks between industrial and financial corporations, this paper compares determinants of direct reconstitution with those of functional reconstitution. Factors affecting the likelihood of direct reconstitution are neutral in effect on the likelihood of functional reconstitution. (CJH)
