Compared a videotape and lecture method for teaching the self-measurement of blood pressure in 13- to 18-year-old adolescents (N=20). Found both methods of instruction equal in respect to acquisition of skills. The videotape method of instruction was more cost-effective in populations of more than 23.9 adolescents. (Author)

Interviewed 88 adolescents to determine their needs and attitudes about sex education. Content analysis showed three areas in need of revision: format, curriculum and lecturer. Evaluated the effectiveness of oral reading for improving reading comprehension of 11 educable mentally handicapped or severe learning disabled adolescents who answered comprehension questions from a short factual article. Students' responses revealed that live theater is an effective means for stimulating both thought and discussion pertaining to the effects of drugs in the lives of adolescents.
