A college course designed to teach students about the mathematics of symmetry using pieces of wallpaper and cloth designs is presented. Mathematical structures and the symmetry of graphic designs provide the starting point for instruction. (MP)

A Mathematics Colloquium program for broadening the mathematics education of graduate students is described. In the program, pre-colloquium lectures are given to provide enough background material to make the general ideas of the colloquium lecture understandable to the interested graduate student. (MN)
