Biswas, Ajoy Kumar – Applied Psychological Measurement, 2006
This article studies the ordinal reliability of (total) test scores. This study is based on a classical-type linear model of observed score (X), true score (T), and random error (E). Based on the idea of Kendall's tau-a coefficient, a measure of ordinal reliability for small-examinee populations is developed. This measure is extended to large…

Divgi, D. R. – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1980
The dependence of reliability indices for mastery tests on mean and cutoff scores was examined in the case of three decision-theoretic indices. Dependence of kappa on mean and cutoff scores was opposite to that of the proportion of correct decisions, which was linearly related to average threshold loss. (Author/BW)

Lucke, Joseph F. – Applied Psychological Measurement, 2005
Psychometric theory focuses primarily on tests that are homogeneous, measuring only one attribute of a psychosocial entity. However, the complexity of psychosocial behavior often requires tests that are heterogeneous, measuring more than one attribute. In this presentation, reliability and internal consistency are extended to heterogeneous tests…

Weiss, David J., Ed. – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1987
Issues concerning equating test scores are discussed in an introduction, four papers, and two commentaries. Equating methods research, sampling errors, linear equating, population differences, sources of equating errors, and a circular equating paradigm are considered. (SLD)

Samejima, Fumiko – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1977
Several important implications in latent trait theory, with implications for individualized or tailored testing, are pointed out. A way of using the information function in tailored testing in connection with the standard error estimation of the ability level using maximum likelihood estimation is suggested. (Author/JKS)

Lord, Frederic M. – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1977
Under given conditions, conventional testing and computer-generated repeatable testing (CGRT) are equally effective for estimating examinee ability; CGRT is more effective for estimating the mean ability level of a group and less effective for estimating ability differences among individuals. These conclusion are drawn from domain-referenced test…
