The absentee-cuing system investigated in this study refers to the use of a wireless microphone by a counselor trainer to transmit messages to a counselor-in-training while she or he is actually engaged in the act of counseling. The system is a rich source for improving counselor training in every regard. (Author)

Determined the effectiveness of the use of the language laboratory to teach counseling skills. A 52-minute self-instructional training tape program was developed in which a reflection of feeling was modeled. Results showed that the self-instructional tape program is an effective procedure for teaching counseling skills. (Author/RC)

A group of graduate students (N=11) were trained according to a popular "helping" model which purports to increase the ability to be facilitative. It was found that graduates were more facilitative after training, were able to train others, and that this type of facilitation ability may be related to self-facilitation. (Author)
