Indicating the three-pronged thrust of school libraries--Resource, Service and Teaching--this article highlights libraries as they exist in schools which are part of a system. Concerns of school librarians regarding networking and cooperation, staffing, copyright, selection, and censorship are discussed. (EJS)

Discusses the role of non-public school libraries, especially Catholic school libraries, in New York State's School Library System. The interlibrary loan networks which have been established are described, and benefits to participating libraries are discussed that include professional development as well as cooperative collection development.
