The second in a series of articles. Methodological reports and studies on the value of Latin in the high school curriculum are reviewed to provide teachers with "hard, scientific" data for presenting the case for Latin before school boards, parents and students. A dozen studies are discussed. (KM)

To reverse the negative attitude toward foreign language study, it is asserted that professional classicists should organize and cooperate with the Modern Language Association/American Council of Learned Societies Task Force II.
