Describes a study at the State University of New York, University at Albany that compared a Web-based library instructional module for first-year students with traditional library instruction. Summative evaluation of library instruction at UCLA found no difference between undergraduate biology students in a lecture group and those in a computer-assisted instruction (CAI) group and prompted the elimination of the lecture method. This article discusses the conceptual framework for the CAI and includes the follow-up survey results. (PEN)
