Investigates the effects of verbal aggressiveness and argumentativeness on two quantitative dimensions of compliance-gaining message use, persistence and diversity. Finds that, among college students, argumentativeness is positively related to strategic diversity, and that verbal aggressiveness and argumentativeness interact to effect persistence. (RS)
