Community colleges have long relied on informal and unstructured collaborations for survival and success. This article describes the need for more complex collaborative relationships with external constituents. Examples of emerging types of structured collaboration are presented, as are the implications of these collaborations for faculty, managers, and college leaders. Contains 17 references. (CK)
