The Minnesota Educational Computing Consortium's (MECC) plan for statewide support and aquisition for educational microcomputers is described, with a focus on the need, development, and implementation of the plan. (Author/MK)

Before the end of this century, it is felt that students may be receiving all of their instruction from computers, with no contact with live teachers whatsoever. However, a new system is promoted that gives teachers new freedom of direction, with computers presenting material and eliminating the petty time-consuming work. (MP)
