A description is given of the development of a series of computer-oriented college textbooks with an emphasis on pedagogy and the role the computer plays in supporting that pedagogy. (MP)

Before the end of this century, it is felt that students may be receiving all of their instruction from computers, with no contact with live teachers whatsoever. However, a new system is promoted that gives teachers new freedom of direction, with computers presenting material and eliminating the petty time-consuming work. (MP)
