Examined whether first- to third-graders' language and mathematics achievement was affected by family context and type of school-related activities practiced by parents. Found that achievement was related to family size, number of adult caregivers, and parents' educational level. Students with parents engaging in learning activities at home were more likely than others to obtain high language achievement scores. (Author/KB)
