The Effects of School District Spending Priorities on the Exit Paths of Beginning Teachers Leaving the District.
Theobald, Neil D.; Gritz, R. Mark
Economics of Education Review, v15 n1 p11-22 Feb 1996
Shows that teachers ending their first employment assignments are more likely to transfer to another teaching position when state teacher salaries and noninstructional staff salaries are increased or when their districts have high central-office spending. The research was based on a new longitudinal data set providing career history information for 9,756 Washington teachers. (MLH)
