Zhang, Susu; Li, Anqi; Wang, Shiyu – Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice, 2023
In computer-based tests allowing revision and reviews, examinees' sequence of visits and answer changes to questions can be recorded. The variable-length revision log data introduce new complexities to the collected data but, at the same time, provide additional information on examinees' test-taking behavior, which can inform test development and…

Popham, W. James – Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice, 1992
Test developers have an obligation to create the most appropriate assessment instruments possible as L. J. Kilian argues, but whether they do or not, educators still are responsible for providing test preparation that is professionally ethical and educationally defensible. (SLD)

Carter, Kathy – Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice, 1986
This article discusses the validity issue in teacher-made tests. Teacher comments suggest teachers are unaware they provide such clues. (Author/JAZ)

Kilian, Lawrence J. – Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice, 1992
Guidelines for appropriate test preparation practices are presented to ensure that tests used in high-stakes situations generate scores that represent their domains validly. These guidelines do not rely directly on two evaluative standards proposed by W. J. Popham (1991), although they share the concern for appropriate test preparation. (SLD)

Armstrong, Anne-Marie – Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice, 1993
The effects of test performance of differentially written multiple-choice tests and test takers' cognitive style were studied for 47 graduate students and 35 public school and college teachers. Adhering to test-writing item guidelines resulted in mean scores basically the same for two groups of differing cognitive style. (SLD)
