Courseware development is keyed to identifying the developer or developers, and faculty should be involved at each step of the process. Procedures for a team approach to development, which appears to have the greatest potential are provided for the guidance of team members in an open-systems approach to CAI (RAO)

Reviews the present status of computer-managed instruction systems (CMI) and computer-assisted instruction (CAI) applications in elementary and secondary schools, and examines the computer's ability to individualize instruction.
