Gaito, John – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1977
Four possible situations in trend analyses in the analysis of variance are discussed: unequal sample sizes with unequal intervals, unequal sample sizes with equal intervals, equal sample sizes with unequal intervals, and equal sample sizes with equal intervals. (Author/JKS)
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Intervals, Sampling, Trend Analysis

Shaffer, Juliet Popper; Gillo, Martin W. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1974
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Research Methodology, Sampling, Statistical Significance

Abedi, Jamal – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1974
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Computer Programs, Factor Analysis, Sampling

Carroll, Robert M.; Faden, Vivian B. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1978
Some sampling characteristics of three estimators of the intraclass correlation were investigated under a variety of conditions within the context of a one-way analysis of variance. The results promote caution in the use of all three estimators. The three estimators differed very little in their bias or in their standard errors. (Author/JKS)
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Correlation, Research Design, Sampling

Sirotnik, Ken – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1970
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Item Sampling, Mathematical Models, Statistical Analysis

Sirotnik, Ken – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972
Investigates implications for finite and known item populations for classical test theory, and the alpha coefficient among items in paper-and-pencil testing. (Author/AG)
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Item Sampling, Mathematical Models, Statistical Analysis

Raju, Nambury S. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1977
A rederivation of Lord's formula for estimating variance in multiple matrix sampling is presented as well as the ways Cronbach's coefficient alpha and the Spearman-Brown prophecy formula are related in this context. (Author/JKS)
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Comparative Analysis, Item Sampling, Mathematical Models

Barcikowski, Robert S. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972

Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Computer Programs, Input Output, Program Descriptions

Gross, Alan L. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1975
Describes the MANOVA (multivariate analysis of variance) Computer Program for ascertaining whether k groups differ significantly from one another on p dependent variables. (Author/RC)
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Computer Programs, Groups, Hypothesis Testing

Lissitz, Robert W.; Chardos, Steve – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1975
Describes some of the situations in which a psychologist is likely to violate the assumption of independent errors. A Monte-Carlo study of the effects of this violation is then described. (Author/RC)
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Computer Programs, Hypothesis Testing, Matrices

Feir-Walsh, Betty J.; Toothaker, Larry E. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1974
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Comparative Analysis, Hypothesis Testing, Nonparametric Statistics

Ross, Donald C.; Klein, Donald F. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1988
The variance of the sample difference and the power of the "F" test for mean differences were studied under group matching on covariates and also under random assignment. Results shed light on systematic assignment procedures advocated to provide more precise estimates of treatment effects than simple random assignment. (TJH)
Descriptors: Analysis of Covariance, Analysis of Variance, Monte Carlo Methods, Outcomes of Treatment

Barcikowski, Robert S.; Holthouse, Norman – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972
Descriptors: Analysis of Covariance, Analysis of Variance, Behavioral Sciences, Computer Programs

Carroll, Robert M.; Nordholm, Lena A. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1975
Statistics used to estimate the population correlation ratio were reviewed and evaluated. The sampling distributions of Kelly's and Hays' statistics were studied empirically by computer simulation within the context of a three level one-way fixed effects analysis of variance design. (Author/RC)
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Bias, Comparative Analysis, Correlation

Kleinke, David J. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Comparative Analysis, Norms, Prediction
