A FORTRAN program is described that aids in construction of screening tests by performing a type of Receiver Operating Characteristic analysis as well as calculating measures such as sensitivity and specificity. CUTOFF could be applied in any setting where the optional cutoff for separating persons into two classes is required. (Author/SLD)

This article describes a set of 11 menu-driven procedures written in BASICA for MS-DOS based microcomputers for constructing several types of rating scales, attitude scales, and checklists, and for scoring responses to the constructed instruments. The uses of the program are described in detail. (SLD)

Two alternatives to traditional item analysis and reliability estimation procedures are considered for determining the difficulty, discrimination, and reliability of optional items on essay and other tests. A computer program to compute these measures is described, and illustrations are given. (SLD)
