The psychometric characteristics of the Job Descriptive Index and other inventories of job satisfaction are examined across a sample of validation studies. The construct validity of these inventories is modest, but this problem can be corrected through proper application of structural equation models. (SLD)

The Employee Satisfaction Inventory (ESI): Development of a Scale to Measure Satisfaction of Greek Employees.

An instrument to measure employee job satisfaction in Greece was developed and tested with 212 and 516 employees. Exploratory factor analysis indicated a six-factor solution with high internal consistency. Structural equation modeling showed a fairly good fit to the model, with need for slight improvement.
