Muhich, Dolores – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972
Major objective in this study was the structuring of a predictive model that would assess combinations of variables that most effectively and parsimoniously measure and forecast college success. (Author)
Descriptors: Criteria, Mathematical Models, Multiple Regression Analysis, Predictive Measurement

Zimmerman, Donald W.; Williams, Richard H. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1982
Changes, like single scores, are demonstrated to be valid and reliable and potentially predictable by independent variables. Change and growth measures determined from individual examinees' test scores indicated excellent predictive value. (Author/PN)
Descriptors: Change, Correlation, Predictive Measurement, Predictive Validity

Friedman, David – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972
Study examined models for improving prediction of single and multiple criteria. (Author)
Descriptors: Factor Analysis, Grade 8, Mathematical Models, Measurement Techniques

Chadwick, Carole S. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972
Descriptors: Evaluation Criteria, Measurement Instruments, Music Teachers, Predictive Measurement

Malgady, Robert G.; Huck, Schuyler W. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1978
The t ratio used in testing the difference between two independent regression coefficients is generalized to the multivariate case of testing the difference between two vectors of regression coefficients. This is particularly useful in determining which of two variables best predicts a number of criterion variables. (Author/JKS)
Descriptors: Correlation, Hypothesis Testing, Matrices, Multiple Regression Analysis

Hartley, Alan A.; Hartley, Joellen T. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1976
A predictive equation for estimating performance in a basic course in methods of psychological research from scores on the Differential Aptitude Test reasoning scales and on the Davis Reading Test, from measures of attitudes toward issues in psychology, and from self-ratings of abilities and of expected course grades is developed. (Author/DEP)
Descriptors: Ability Identification, College Students, Grade Prediction, Higher Education

Edwards, Jack E.; Waters, L.K. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1983
A previous study by Edwards and Waters (1982) was replicated and extended by incorporating a personal needs/college climate discrepancy index and a voluntary/nonvoluntary attrition breakdown. The use of undifferentiated, nonvoluntary, and voluntary attrition criteria yielded substantially different results in both the predictors of attrition and…

Holly, Keith A.; Michael, William B. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1973
The Structure-of-Intellect Tests are shown to represent promising alternatives to the traditional commercial standardized tests now widely used in predicting success in modern algebra. (Author/NE)
Descriptors: Algebra, Measurement Techniques, Multiple Regression Analysis, Predictive Measurement

Tucker, Ledyard R. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1973
The inter-battery factor analysis model for predictive systems appears to offer a useful formalization of these systems and provides some guides for the development of the system. (Author)

Sharon, Amiel T. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972
Social Studies was the best predictor in the two-year colleges whereas Literature was the most predictive of success in the four-year colleges. (Author)
Descriptors: College Students, Data Analysis, Equivalency Tests, Grade Point Average

Ayers, Jerry B.; Rohr, Michael E. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972
Study was designed to examine the validity of the Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire in predicting achievement of college sophomores majoring in Education. (Authors)
Descriptors: Academic Achievement, College Students, Factor Analysis, Personality Assessment

Morguelan, Fred N.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1978
The reliability and validity of an instrument designed to predict dimensions of community adjustment of schizophrenic patients released to reside in the outside community was investigated. Cross-validation was only modestly successful. (JKS)
Descriptors: Adjustment (to Environment), Community, Evaluation Criteria, Predictive Measurement
