This study compared scores on two divergent thinking tests, the Verbal and the Figural Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT), with scores on two creativity interest inventories, Davis's How Do You Think? and Raudsepp's How Creative Are You? Mace, David E.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1985
Through use of confirmatory maximum likelihood factor analysis in conjunction with the LISREL V computer program, an evaluation was made of the validity of higher-order ability constructs in structure-of-intellect tests all containing semantic content and operations of cognition or evaluation. Burke, Michael J. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1982
A model was proposed to examine the effects of mathematical aptitude and academic orientation on performance. The calculated path coefficients did not strongly support the model. Mathematical aptitude has a direct effect on college performance, whereas the effect of academic orientation was mediated by high school performance and mathematical…

Reynolds, William M.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1980
The initial development and validation of the Academic Self-Concept Scale (ASCS) as a measure of an academic facet of general self-concept in college students is reported. Data supports reliability and validity of the ASCS. (Author/GK)

Hanna, Gerald S.; Sonnenschein, Joan L. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1985
The relative predictive validity of girls' and boys' success in algebra is examined. Eighth-grade students completed the Orleans-Hanna Algebra Prognosis Test. These prognosis test scores were correlated with grades that students subsequently earned in first-year algebra. Algebra grades of girls proved to be the more predictable. (Author/DWH)

DeBoer, George E. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1981
A path analytic model is hypothesized and tested to explain the effect of a series of intellective and nonintellective student attributes on high school achievement and college achievement. Patterns of predictability for male and female students are compared. (Author/GK)

Wen, Shih-Sung; McCoy, Rose E. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1975
Results indicated that manifest needs measures correlated significantly with grade point average (GPA) for males only; personal problem measures correlated with GPA for males and females; a manifest anxiety measure correlated significantly for males only; and scholastic aptitudes correlated significantly with GPA for males and females. (BJG)
