Magazine, Sherry L.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1996
Examination of the Affective and Continuance Commitment Scales of J. P. Meyer and N. J. Allen using confirmatory factor analysis for 333 subjects with the LISREL 7 computer program provided strong support across multiple diagnostics for existence of a reverse coding factor defined by the 6 negatively worded scale items. Lienert, G. A. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1973
The G index of agreement, introduced by Holley and Guilford for correlating persons over n2-point variables is generalized for multi-point variables, allowing one person to be rated along a r-point scale and the other person to be rated along a c-point scale, by means of a weighting procedure. Malloy, Thomas E.; Copeland, Ellis P. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1980
The Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation Behavior (FIRO-B) scale is a measure of inclusion, control and affection. Examination of the component algorithms which yield its global compatibility score suggest an inconsistent use of absolute values and real numbers. A modification of Schutz's original mathematical schema is presented.…

Shipper, Frank; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1986
Despite much evidence that the Jenkins Activity Survey Type A (JAS Type A) scale is lacking in essential psychometric properties, it continues to be widely used for measuring coronary-prone behavior. Four psychometric properties of the scale were assessed. The scale failed to satisfy accepted reliability and validity criteria. (Author/JAZ)

Thompson, Bruce; Borrelo, Gloria M. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1986
The structure and item performance of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator was investigated using data from 39 college students. Factor analysis was applied to the items, factor adequacy and invariance coefficients were computed, and the appropriateness of the recommended item weights was examined. Results strongly supported the instrument's construct…

Mallory, Charles H.; Walker, C. Eugene – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972
The O-H (Overcontrolled-Hostility) scale was developed to distinguish among normal subjects and groups of extremely assaultive, moderately assaultive and nonviolent prisoners on the basis of 31 MMPI items. (Authors/CB)

Green, Samuel B.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1981
Two variations of an alternative method to construct behaviorally anchored rating scales (BARS) are suggested. The traditional and two simplified methods were used to develop scales for teacher performance evaluation. The shortcut derivation method is recommended, as it requires less construction time. Thompson, Bruce; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1996
The construct validity of scores on the Behavior Rating Scale of the revised Bayley Scales of Infant Development was studied with national standardization samples of children ranging from 1 to 42 months and a variety of factor analytic methods. The factor structure became more complex at older ages. (SLD)

DiStefano, Christine; Kamphaus, R. W. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 2006
Two classification methods, latent class cluster analysis and cluster analysis, are used to identify groups of child behavioral adjustment underlying a sample of elementary school children aged 6 to 11 years. Behavioral rating information across 14 subscales was obtained from classroom teachers and used as input for analyses. Both the procedures…

Ozawa, Joseph P.; Michael, William B. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1983
The Ozawa Behavioral Rating Scale contains six items related to distractibility and nine items related to impulsivity. This validity study showed that the Scale shows statistically significant relationships with the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children--Revised and the Matching Familiar Figures Test and may be appropriate for identifying…

Reynolds, Cecil R. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1982
A modified multitrait-multimethod validation matrix was generated to evaluate the construct validity of the Revised Children's Manifest Anxiety Scale (RCMAS). Results were consistent with the use of RCMAS as a measure of chronic, manifest anxiety levels in children. Large correlations occurred with other trait measures of anxiety. (Author/PN)
