Differences in the meaning of the terms "learning" and "achievement" are discussed, with implications for appraisal, placement, curriculum, and instruction. Visual discrimination learning, paired associate learning, adapting to learning, and learning to learn are illustrated with references to learning disabled students. (MNS)
