An approach is presented for incorporating Afro-Hispanic literature into traditional Spanish courses on all levels of foreign language instruction; both prose and poetry are treated. A bibliography with materials suited for professionals who are either familiar or unfamiliar with Afro-Hispanic literature is presented. (SW)

The Spanish language teacher can enrich the study of Hispanic culture by drawing upon local community resources. Suggestions, resource guides, and bibliographies are offered to enable the classroom teacher to utilize local Cuban, Chicano, and Puerto Rican resources in the teaching of Hispanic culture. (Author)
