Late-life marriages are receiving more attention today. However, demographic statistics reveal no upsurge in gerontic marriage over the last decade. Some individuals such as the young-old, men, the divorced, and those residing in western and southern states have better chances for marriage than other older Americans. (Author)

Using a variety of census records and agency statistics, this study identifies neighborhood types in the City of Los Angeles and demonstrates substantial differences in the capabilities and neighborhood conditions of their older residents. (Author)
