This study examined the extent to which Fishbein's Model of Behavioral Intentions was able to predict breast self-examination behavior. A questionnaire was administered to 350 women who were classified according to frequency of breast self-examination. Results are set forth. Implications for health educators are considered. (MT)

A study assessed the impact of using modeling and rehearsal techniques for teaching breast self-examination to college students. Although students exposed to the techniques did not differ from a control group who read pamphlets in knowledge level, their attitudes changed somewhat. (PP)

The American Cancer Society's guidelines, recommending that having Pap tests at three-year intervals is safe for many women, are questioned. Dangers to women with a high risk of cervical cancer, problems with faulty test results, and other gynecological problems that may be detected during pelvic examinations are discussed. (PP)
