Predictably, an Unconvincing Second Attempt
Gagne, Francoys
High Ability Studies, v18 n1 p67-69 Jun 2007
Less than a decade ago, Howe et al. (1998) attempted to demonstrate the lack of scientific support for the concept of innate talent (IT). Most ([approximately equal to] 75%) of the 30 commentators to that target article clearly disagreed with their core position. In spite of Ericsson's current efforts to counter or circumvent the major objections expressed then, most of them remain valid here. In this article, some of the problems are presented here. Because of the illustrative significance of prodigies, the author focuses on Ericsson's treatment of information about these extremely precocious individuals.
