The New Second Generation in the United States.
Farley, Reynolds; Alba, Richard
International Migration Review, v36 n3 p669-701 Fall 2002
Investigated whether social, economic, and demographic data about the second generation from the Current Population Survey would provide information about these individuals and their assimilation. Overall, these comprehensive data provided valuable descriptive information, permitting cautious testing of hypotheses concerning social and economic assimilation. Results revealed great diversity among the second generation depending upon country of origin, though today's second generation exceeds the first generation in most comparisons.
