Examined relationship between self-perception and psychological adjustment among disturbed (n=33) and nondisturbed (n=33) young adolescents. Results indicated that dimensional self-concept scores were significantly lower for disturbed group. No significant differences were found between groups on mathematics, honesty, and physical ability dimensions. Findings emphasize need to examine self-esteem in terms of its particular dimensions.
