A Study of Theoretical Orientation to Reading and Its Relationship to Teacher Verbal Feedback during Reading Instruction.
Hoffman, James V.; Kugle, Cherry L.
Journal of Classroom Interaction, v18 n1 p2-7 Win 1982
A study examined the relationship between teachers' theoretical orientations toward reading and the verbal feedback they give to students during guided oral reading. A major finding is that teachers' beliefs and behavior vary with the instructional situation; that is, teachers hold different beliefs for different student ability groups. (Authors/PP)
