Investigated the relationship between the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory paranoia subtle, neutral, and obvious subscales and criteria presumed to reflect various paranoid characteristics in a sample of male college students (N=100). Identified wives (N=56) of hemodialysis patients at risk for problems adapting to their husband's illness, and explored personality variables that might enhance coping. Investigated the validity of the Vocabulary-Block Design short form as an estimate of Full Scale IQ in White male delinquents. The difference between the means of the short form and the Full Scale IQ was small and nonsignificant. Concluded the short form was useful as a screening device. (Author)

Investigated validity of the Short Form Test of Academic Aptitude (SFTAA) as a predictor of Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) Full Scale IQ. Tested junior-high students and found the WISC-R could be estimated satisfactorily from the SFTAA, which was shown to be a valid indicator of intelligence. (Author/JAC)
