Investigated the relationship of the MacAndrew Alcoholism Scale (MAC) to personality type and level of emotional distress using Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory scores of 38 alcoholic males. No relationship was found between the MAC and magnitude of psychological distress, as measured by T scores. (JAC)

Tested Hartmann's (1973) hypothesis that consistent short sleepers tend to be nonworriers while long sleepers tend to worry. Indian college students (N=50) classified as long or short sleepers took the Hindi version of Sinha Anxiety Scale. Results showed short sleepers had higher levels of anxiety, questioning Hartmann's results. (JAC)

Studied the relationship between the Character Disorder Style (CDS) subscale of the Multivariate Personality Inventory and psychopathy.
