This study investigated the usefulness of pre-recorded counseling intervention with students in order to answer such questions as: How is the technique best implemented? With whom? Under what conditions? What outcomes might be expected? It was concluded that the merit of the Encountertape program has yet to be proved. (Author)

The composition of encounter groups changed between 1971 and 1974. Female participants in 1971 reported more hostility and depression than males but by 1974 these differences were reversed. An increase in task orientation was found in both sexes. Emphasized the importance of monitoring changes in group composition. (Author)

The Structured Activity Model for designing group learning activities enhances generation of relevant data for group exploration in a nonthreatening way when the content area is personally threatening or controversial. This model is flexible and readily adaptable to a variety of group learning contexts, content areas, and age levels. (Author)
