Studies were conducted to identify factors related to development of instructional computing materials and environments conducive to development in higher education. Discussion of the use of computers in education focuses on five models of approaches to computer curriculum in special education: (1) the role of the teacher; (2) social and social-cognitive learning environments; (3) improving cognitive capacities; (4) expanding experiential horizons; and (5) information management.
