Describes the development, use, and evaluation of the "Osmosis Program" as a teaching tool to elicit and challenge college students' understanding about diffusion and osmosis. Investigated the relationships of figural response items and open-ended verbal items in biology to figural and verbal mental aptitudes (n=24).
