Presented are ideas for the utilization of Microsoft Works in the secondary mathematics classroom. The spreadsheet and graphing capabilities of this software package are demonstrated for several topics including the concept of slope for first year algebra, and creating and interpreting graphs for a general mathematics class. Described are several spreadsheet templates which use the functions of iteration and logical look-up which allow students to calculate and graph quantum mechanical functions and to simulate rotational and vibrational energy level and spectra. The templates are listed in the appendix. (KR)

Reviewed are two microcomputer software packages which may be useful in mathematics education: "Hands-On Math Volume 3," and "MathCAD 2.5." Listed are the educational level, hardware requirements, package contents, cost, and availability. Discussed are the functions, applications, strengths and weaknesses of each package. (CW)
