Suggests that the dearth of computer science instruction in secondary schools may be due to a lack of teacher and administrator training. Proposes a program to retrain high school teachers of science and mathematics to teach computer science. The program would run two summers and contribute to a master's degree. (Author/AIM)

This study reports that artistic and social vocational-personality characteristics are associated with greater anxiety and less involvement or success in mathematics and computer courses. A concept of population variability in computer anxiety which is associated with individual differences in vocational personality is supported. (MVL)

Reports on a study that was designed to investigate possible effects of inservice instruction (BASIC and LOGO/PILOT) on teachers' mathematical anxiety. Results indicated that teachers enrolled in BASIC programing courses manifested more mathematics anxiety after the course than those who were enrolled in a LOGO/PILOT course. (ML)
