Relation of Level of Ego Development to Type and Severity of Psychopathology.

A previous study of psychopathology and ego development was replicated with design improvement. Contrary to the previous study, results suggested that ego development is not meaningfully predictive of type or severity of psychopathology. MMPI Profile Types of Exposers, Rapists, and Assaulters in a Court Services Population

In this study, Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) profiles of exposer (n=36), rapist (n=47), and assaulter (n=46) groups were investigated and compared. The most disturbed group, the rapists, had MMPI K-corrected mean raw scale scores that were significantly greater than those of the exposer group on many scales. (Author)
