Cohen, Nancy J.; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1985
Reports findings on the concurrent validity of the broad-band Internalizing and Externalizing profile types of the Achenbach Child Behavior Checklist. Results indicated that Internalizers were favored on a number of measures of adaptation when compared with Externalizers. (Author/MCF)
Descriptors: Behavior Patterns, Behavior Problems, Children, Profiles

Dies, Robert R. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1973
The scale demonstrated reasonable item homogeneity. Validity data from five separate samples suggested that scores on the Group Therapist Orientation Scale related meaningfully to actual behavior in a group therapy context. (Author)

Boerger, Alan R.; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1974
Results of Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory data were correlated to see if they were related to demographic and behavioral data. Analysis was done for male and female subjects. A significant number of reliable correlates were identified. (Author/EK)

Levine, Frederic J. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1971
Wolitzky's theoretical objections to the premises of a recent study by Levine are traced to some misunderstandings of the study's rationale, and to a difference in definition of the concept of constricted versus flexible control. (Author)

Pearson, Pamela H. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1971
The results of this study provided additional support for the fruitfulness of conceptualizing four separate rational forms of novelty experiencing, as well as additional construct validation for each of the four measures. Overall the differentiation of the forms among themselves and with the external variables was reasonably good. (Author)

Morris, Louis A.; Shapiro, Arthur K. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1974
MMPI values were used to find the relationship of field dependency to personality traits and styles of pathological adjustment in psychiatric outpatients. The investigation had separate analyses for the patient's sex and found it an important variable in predicting the relationship between test score and dependency and adjustment. (ED)

Wolitzky, David L. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1971
In a recent study, Levine concluded that there was a lack of support for the concept of constricted versus flexible cognitive control. It is suggested that this conclusion is misleading in view of issues concerning the logic of the derived predictions and the statistical power of the study. (Author)

Rosen, Anne-Sofie; Schalling, Daisy – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1974
The purpose of the study was to isolate groups homogeneous in role-taking ability and to describe them on dimensions of the California Psychological Inventory (CPI) Socialization (So) scale. The results support the validity of some of the subscales as indicators of the role-taking construct underlying the So scale. (Author)

Bellack, Alan S.; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1979
Undergradautes responded to role-played scenarios involving heterosocial interactions. Later they were surreptitiously observed while they interacted with an opposite-sex student, an experimental confederate. Videotapes were rated for component responses. Role-play behavior was moderately correlated with behavior in naturalistic situations for…

Lachar, David; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1982
Constructed broad-band factor scales from a factor analysis of the items that comprise the 12 consecutive Personality Inventory for Children clinical-profile scales. The six-factor solution provided sufficiently robust item clusters to develop scales reflecting Undisciplined/Poor Self-Control, Social Incompetence, Internalization/Somatic Symptoms,…
