Patients' self perceived treatment needs can be understood with reference to seven clusters of needs: need for help with anxiety depression, superego complaints, gross psychotic symptoms, physical symptoms causing emotional difficulties, economic vocational complaints, feelings of inadequacy and marital difficulties. These factors showed minimal relationship to the background variables chosen. (Author/CG)
