Examined factor structure of mental health self-reports among older adults who were either physically disabled (N=59), recently widowed (N=52), or matched controls (N=113). Subjects completed Mental Health Inventory, Psychiatric Epidemiology Research Interview Demoralization Composite, and Bradburn Positive Affect Scale. Analyses suggest consistent assessment of mental health of both unstressed and stressed older adults can be obtained using these measures. (Author/NB)
