Parenting Programs for Incarcerated Fathers: Clinical and Research Recommendations
Allely, Clare S.
Journal of Correctional Education, v71 n2 p2-19 Sep 2020
There is a significant gap in our knowledge and understanding regarding how to most effectively support incarcerated parents (particularly incarcerated fathers) to ensure that they can be the most effective parents they can possibly be. Currently, there is relatively little understanding regarding the specific factors that can facilitate change in parenting approaches for incarcerated fathers. There is a very real need for more research in this area that can help inform and improve current prison policies and practices. This article presents some of the key clinical and research recommendations based on a careful review of the literature.
