Evaluated responses of volunteers to a telephone crisis line to determine presence of appropriate statements to offer to a caller. Most responses were advisements, which were high for calls dealing with loneliness and dating. Feelings were ignored by most volunteers. This was considered inappropriate for helping agencies.
