Purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between locus of control and the issue of modeling and instructional effectiveness. Results indicated that modeling was an effective procedure. Internal-modeling subjects were more concrete than the internal-instructions subjects. (Author)

To determine the effect of subject characteristics and subject control on counseling, a laboratory analogue study was designed. Subjects were given varying degrees of control over the programming of their exploration by assigning them to groups in which high, low, and intermediate levels of external control were manipulated.
