Explored the validity of the College Self-Expression Scale (CSES) for 144 students in the context of three alternative models of behavior--personism, situationalism, and interactionalism. Two self-report measures of openness and two behavioral measures of openness were administered to 50 subjects prior to and immediately following one of four treatment procedures. Contrary to prediction, none of the measures indicated an increase in openness for those subjects who had undergone openness-promoting treatments. (Author)
